Terms of use

SampleAPI is a free tool for developers. By using it you agree to the points below.

What it’s for

SampleAPI is for learning, prototyping, demos, tutorials, and testing HTTP clients. It is not a backend for a real product. Don’t build anything on top of it that real people depend on.

What you shouldn’t do

  • Don’t try to overload, break, or attack the service.
  • Don’t use it to attack, scan, or relay traffic to anyone else.
  • Don’t send anything sensitive — real personal data, passwords, payment info, health data, or secrets. This is a public testing service.
  • Don’t republish the documentation or sample data as if it were your own.

No guarantees

The service is free and provided as-is. It can be slow, change, or go down at any time without notice. Endpoints, response shapes, and limits can all change. Don’t rely on it for anything important.

Rate limits

If you send too many requests too quickly you’ll get an HTTP 429 response. Wait the time given in the Retry-After header and try again.

Blocking abuse

If a client abuses the service or breaks these terms, we may rate-limit or block it.

Not liable

We’re not responsible for anything that goes wrong on your side because of using this service — bugs in your code, missed deadlines, lost work, anything else. Use it at your own risk.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the bottom shows the last update. Continuing to use the service means you accept the current version.
